The New Cottleville Tradition
Eleven years ago the Cottleville Firefighters Outreach started a new St. Patrick’s Day celebration that would grow to become the largest single-day event in St. Charles County. After the first year of this race and parade, the community formed a new organization to manage and develop this event. It became known as the Cottleville St. Patricks Day Parade and Run for the Helmet. The Cottleville St. Patrick’s Day Foundation grew this event until 2018, when their Directors decided to donate their assets back to the Cottleville Firefighters Outreach.
We know that this event is important to our community and we see great potential in it. However, this event has struggled to maintain itself in recent years and in order for this event to be sustainable we had to make reasonable changes to its structure. We are also a different kind of organization, with family-centric values. Our new approach deserved a new name, and thus the Shamrock Run and Parade was established. Please join us on March 16, 2019 as we inaugurate this new Cottleville tradition.
